William Chad Willsie graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design with a BFA in painting. His body of work began as an investigation of media's use of deploying utopian like narratives and detached expressions to sell consumer goods. Media images were then used in the context of painting to confront the audience with the alien yet seductive nature of the "hyper-real". His work has since progressed into culturally and socially charged images, which draw the audience into the narrative world of the "hyper-real".

With a small but eclectic series of exhibitions in Vancouver 2003-2004, he has attained collectors in New York, California, Seattle and Europe.
